Toxic relationships can have a serious and long-lasting impact on an individual's mental and physical health. A toxic relationship is characterized by emotional, verbal, or physical abuse, and can often leave the victim feeling isolated, powerless, and unable to leave. Unfortunately, domestic violence and abuse are all too common. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetime. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, age, race, or sexual orientation. It's important to recognize the signs of a toxic relationship and seek help if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse. Our website is dedicated to providing information and resources to help individuals leave toxic relationships and begin to heal.
